Summary of my year 2022

summary of my year

In the last two years I have created a tradition of summarizing the good news of the year, it will happen this year too, but first I feel the need to summarize the year that I have had. This year was probably the most significant year I’ve experienced. Many things have changed and all of these changes have affected this blog, (which has endured slight neglect, for the purpose of progress). I started this year knowing that I would be investing everything towards developing and reaching my goals. I knew I wanted to start my life’s work, but I wasn’t sure what it was.

Of course I started with the existing project, which is this blog. Up until then I had operated without profit, but decided that it was time to establish a digital financial base. I started researching and learning about the possibilities of making money from blogging, but it didn’t feel right to me. There were ways to turn a blog into a source of income, but the methods seemed inauthentic to me.

So I decided to develop myself and combine my skills in the creation of my financial base.

I started to prepare personal development processes in my diary in advance for each week. I felt like I knew a lot about how to make my life extraordinary, but didn’t really invest the time needed to practice. The change that the planned processes made in my life was amazing. When I saw how easy and accessible the practice was having processes that were arranged and waiting for me in the morning, I realized how such a tool could create a positive change in many more people, if only they had the access.

The realization that I wanted to create such a product came to me in the same time zone that I created the article about the interviews I did with solo travelers in Scotland about the ecological situation. When I wrote that article, I suddenly realized something that the teachers in the personal development course I had taken had tried to tell me years before – people who are connected to themselves and know about the magic of creation, cannot deny the situation we are in and usually adjust their habits to a more harmonious situation.

I realized that such a product would help in the three aspects that I have dedicated my life to promote – self-exploration, environmental awareness and providing inspiration, which are also the things I write about in my blog.

Everything came together in such a precise way, but I knew that in order to create this tool in the best, most accurate and comprehensive way I would need time to publish it. I also knew that I wanted to have a digital base that I could rely on once I was able to go on a continuous nomadic journey. So, in addition to creating the journal, I chose to study an 8-month digital marketing course. Over the years with my blog I have gained a lot of knowledge of the digital world, but I felt it was time to learn about all aspects in more depth.

This course was definitely a smart decision. I love learning and researching, but thanks to the knowledge I already had, I could even establish my business “Digital Magic Wand” before the course had ended and gain first clients to develop my portfolio.

As soon as I had some stability in this aspect, I focused all the free time I had left on creating the journal.

While I was just shaping this concept in my head, I didn’t realize how amazing this tool was going to be. I refined it to the level of the smallest details. I filled it with inspiration, designed it meticulously, enriched it with a lot of knowledge and built it to fit the ultimate user experience. In the process of its creation I felt that it was my calling. I clearly saw how everything I had experienced up to that point was in order for me to create this instrument. Inspiration continued to flow to me and I decided to create additional tools and launch a studio for ecological paper products that will assist their users in their personal development journey.

At the beginning of June I realized that in order to launch such a studio I would have to invest quite a bit of money. I didn’t want to have to take a loan and I also didn’t want to be in a situation where I didn’t have the finances to travel the moment that I was ready to. For those who remember, the previous summer I worked intensively as a bar manager at a beach restaurant, a hard but rewarding job. This is also the work that pushed me to want to create my life’s work. Admittedly, I didn’t think I would return there when I left. But I saw how it served my goals. I decided to bite my tongue and return to the framework of Friday-Saturday shifts only, days when it was more difficult for me to open a computer and work. Without a doubt, I feel that I took advantage of every second and that I worked around the clock to launch the studio. It was harder than words can describe, but a thousand times more rewarding. During the shifts on Friday-Saturday I would remind myself many times why I was there and it helped me survive difficult shifts.

In addition to all the jobs and tasks I have had to do for these two businesses, I knew that I also needed to create a web shell for them that would market them. At that moment I thanked myself for creating this blog in 2019 and for the time that I had filled it with quality content. Luckily, in the comprehensive course I did in digital marketing, I also learned to build websites by myself in a better way than I knew back in 2019. So, in addition to everything, I have also invested time in creating the new site and setting it up instead of the old template. Due to excitement and multitasking, I haven’t had time to launch it officially, but I hope you like it. Although there are still some things I would be happy to improve, the process of creation and development is endless so I allow myself to do some things at my own pace.

As a rule my pace is usually slow, but I have managed to do a lot of things this year.

I have learned this year, to place my focus on what is important and divide the tasks into priorities. In addition, I have learned that if we overcome the thoughts of “maybe I’m not good enough for the task”, we discover how suited we actually are to said task. I have always known that what moves us guides us on our way, but this year I have seen it clearly. I wanted the journal to be perfect and at the beginning I was afraid to mess up, I was afraid it wouldn’t turn out the way I wanted and wouldn’t convey the message. Then I let go of the fear and decided to try, delete and start over, try again and again until it felt accurate and right. We always have the ability to start over but if we don’t start we won’t know where we can end up. I myself was surprised by the level of the products I created. They came out exactly as I wanted them to be and more accurately than I could ever have imagined.

I feel that I had the privilege of creating these products and I hope that they will help as many people as possible to make 2023 a year of fulfillment and happiness. I thank every moment of this year that was especially special for me and helped me understand a lot about myself, my ambitions and abilities. I have many more plans and ambitions for 2023 and I’m sure it will be special in its own way.

Do you also have a summary of your year?

It is important to take time and to examine the goals we set for the year and see how close we came to achieving those goals. Wishing you a year of fulfillment and empowerment, you deserve to know how powerful you are.
