“Composting system” helps us prevent greenhouse gas emissions and reduce our waste production. You can find a guide to preparing your compost heap here.
Let’s start with the equipment we need:
- A bin with a lid.
- A drill.
- An electric screwdriver.
- An electric saw.
- A screw (for the door).
Please do this carefully and only if you know how to use these tools. If not, ask someone who does know how for help.
So let’s start by removing the bottom of the bin so the compost will be open. With the help of an electric saw we will cut the bottom off.
Then using the electric saw, we will make a doorway on the side towards the bottom, through which we can remove the prepared fertilizer.
Now using the bin bottom that we removed earlier, we will cut a square that will cover the opening that we have created. We will connect the cover to the area where the doorway is located with a screw which will enable us to open the door when we need to.
Now, all that remains is to make holes around the bin to allow the air to enter.
Done! Now we have a compost bin ready, all that’s left to do is install the composting system in the garden and start filling it with organic waste.
